Since i’m pretty random today, i might as well dedicate a post today on my hockey team the Tornadoes. So i started practicing with the team at the start of the year. Oh wait, lets rewind a little. How did i get to know of the team? Oh yes, my good friend Joce introduced me to the club. The training ground is in Boon Lay which means it’s walking distance from my house, so i thought, what the hack. I did play hockey a little in Junior College so i thought i should just continue with the training and lose some weight, if not build some muscles. Then exam drew near so i decided i should forgo training and concentrate on the road to restless nights and plenty of coffee.
So after June, i decided to go back for training. Though i think it was really through Pei Ling’s persuasion that i went back in the end. I was totally just lazing around at home after the exams. I also forgot to mention that before i pulled out of the training, i introduced Pei Ling to the club and she went on to play the hockey league this year. Tornadoes eventually won the division 1 title, so kudos girls! I signed up recently for the Singapore hockey federation indoor hockey league which starts somewhere in September at Delta. I’m actually extremely excited about this league cause first of all, indoor hockey? I’ve never heard of such a thing but i’m going to do my best out there anyway.
So if anyone out there is still deciding on whether you should join a sports club or any activity for that matter to stay healthy, i suggest you stop thinking and sign up for it. Do something you know or something you have been itching to try for the longest time because it’s always good to exercise and meet new people with common interest.
